Privacy policy

What personal information Lawyers List handles, why, who helps us run the site and how to ask us to delete your data.

Who is responsible

The owner of Lawyers List (lawyerslist.us) decides how personal information on the site is used, and you can reach the owner at info@lawyerslist.us. The United States has no general federal privacy law for a site like this one, so this page explains plainly what we handle, why, and how to have it deleted. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for advertising.

What we handle and why

When you visit, your IP address, your browser and the pages you open, only to keep the site secure and working. When you write to us, your message and email address, so we can reply. If you use a form to send a question to law firms, the firms you choose receive your name, contact details and message so they can answer you. For law firms with an account, the sign-in email and the firm's details, so it can manage its page and any plan it buys.

Please do not send us, or put in any form, the facts of a legal matter, documents or anything you would only tell your own lawyer. Messages sent through the site are not confidential legal communications, and we delete case details if they reach us.

No ads and no tracking cookies

Lawyers List shows no ads and sets no advertising cookies and no analytics cookies. Visits are counted by Cloudflare without cookies. The only cookie is a technical one that keeps a law firm signed in to its account.

Service providers

Cloudflare hosts and protects the site, counts visits without cookies and handles our email. Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a person is sending our forms. Stripe takes payment for the plans law firms buy and handles card details itself, so they never reach us.

How long we keep it

Browsing data, only as long as security requires. Emails, until we have dealt with your message. Account details, while the account is open. Billing records, for as long as tax and accounting rules require.

Deleting your data and other requests

Anyone can ask us what personal information we hold about them, or ask us to correct or delete it, by writing to info@lawyerslist.us. If you live in a state with its own privacy law, such as California, you can also use the rights that law gives you through the same address. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact your state attorney general's office.

Children

The site is meant for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes

If we change how we handle personal information, we will say so on this page.
